It’s the people who make Papillon. We have a great mix of personalities and expertise ready to breathe life into your PR campaigns and help you to build your reputation.

      Katie Whirledge - founder/director

Katie founded Papillon at her kitchen table in 2010, following 20 years’ experience as a journalist, advertising executive, copywriter and PR consultant. She’s seen and (almost!) done it all, and now divides her time between the cosmopolitan Walton-on-Trent and London (where she’s on first name terms with everyone at the restaurants in Euston Station). Clients love Katie because she's commercial, confident and entirely entertaining. We love her because she’s always buying us lunch from The Swan.

Jonathan Boddy – crisis and media communications partner

Jonathan is our crisis guru, a veteran who in the past 20 years has managed every scenario you could possibly imagine. As a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), Jonathan is reassuringly calm is a crisis but does a great job emulating Jeremy Paxman during media training sessions.

Karen Cureton – social media training partner

Karen has a strong sales and marketing background with over twenty-five years both in retail and business. Her corporate career was as a Sales Director for a national Housebuilder. She left corporate world in 2008 to set up her Sales and Social Media Consultancy based near East Midlands Airport.

Karen now offers a range of services which are primarily:
      • Sales Training
      • Twitter, Facebook , Instagram and LinkedIn training
      • Social Media Management
      • Social Media Strategy and planning
      • Social Media Mentor Programme

She now works with SME’s and on occasion larger companies offering the above services for their teams to build their skills in these areas. She is proud to have a high client retention rate and most of her clients come through referral.

      Samantha Smith – account manager

Sam discovered Papillon after liking a positive and inspiring LinkedIn post from a previous Papillon employee and wanted to be a part of the team from that very moment. With a great digital mindset, Sam likes to rise to a challenge whether that's email marketing, social media or volunteering for online charity projects.

If she's not watching police programmes, she's burying herself into a good book and acting on stage. Oh, and she's also an avid lover of green tea.

      Amie Blockley – account executive

Amie has recent experience as a Primary School teachera degree in Psychology with Education Studies as well as a PGDE in Educational LeadershipShe is also experienced in charities and student representation and has been elected as a Trustee of the YMCA in Burton-upon-Trent.
